How to use the percentage calculator

Each tab above solves a different type of percentage problem. Type your numbers into the fields and the result updates instantly — no need to press a button.

About these tools

  • Percentage: find X% of Y, work out what percent X is of Y, or calculate the percentage increase/decrease between two numbers. Fields accept numbers plus e for Euler's number.
  • Calculator: a fast, no-frills calculator for everyday addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, with quick-entry buttons for e and π.
  • Solve for X: type a simple linear equation like 2x + 5 = 15 and get X immediately. Equations can also include e and π as constants, e.g. x + e = 10.
  • Graph: type any function of x — quadratics, cubics, roots, trig, and more — to see an interactive graph plus automatic intercepts, increasing/decreasing intervals, sign intervals, and local extrema.
